Heat Retention

Heat retention is a common performance focus of insulated outdoor gear today.

Simply put, heat retention refers to the ability to preserve the heat generated from the user's body within its enclosed environment. And there are several scientific ways of measuring the heat retention capability of any gear, such as the CLO. In general, the higher the heat retention, the warmer the gear occupant will be.

Insotect has specifically developed several insulation technologies targeting an advanced level of heat retention that exploits the highest potential of insulated gear. Active Zoning™, for example, adds 30% extra volume to the baffle space for the use of high fill-power down. The extra loft created by high fill-power down creates an extra warm inner layer for a restful night's sleep. And our patented Anchor™ technology adds insulating air pockets for an extra layer of thermal protection.

And innovative Insotect insulation systems, such as Insotect A-Shingo™, improve on the already proven heat retention capabilities of the shingle insulation system. While Insotect Dualmax™ maximizes the benefits of both down and synthetic insulations for superior heat retention through circulation control.
